A homemaker finds pests a nuisance. They not only are bad for the general hygiene up-keep of the house but also reflect the general cleanliness attitude of the homemaker. Too many pests in the house would mean that the homemaker has not made any effort to ensure that his or her house is clean and neat.

Any room of the house can have a pest problem.  The rooms have to be regularly cleaned up.  Kitchen should be spic and span.  Food particles should not be lying all over the place. The place should be devoid of any grease.

• Ants can be got rid of with a concoction of borax and sugar. The ants are attracted by the sugar and poisoned by the borax
• Cockroaches can be got rid of by sprinkling borax powder in the kitchen and in bathroom cabinets. One should not sprinkle it where children and pets can have access to it
• Wasps, bees or other flying insect in your house can be go rid of by insect spray or by hair spray if insect spray is not around
• If fleas are around, then vacuum the rugs thoroughly before spraying, and throw the dust bag immediately
• The water in a birdbath should be changed every third day reduce the mosquito population.
• Centipedes enter your house as they prey on other bugs. It is important to get rid of other bugs
• Damp wood attracts carpenter ants. One should ensure that the pipes, roof and windowsills are not leaking
• Check up all holes to see if there are any termites
• Also see if it is possible for the entire apartment complex to be treated at the same time.  Insects easily move from one apartment to another apartment

Keep the house pest free, by maintaining cleanliness at all times. Pests are a nuisance. They can contaminate your food. One should not allow them in the house under any circumstances.
