A patio is a place to relax with your friends and enjoy the scenic beauty of your garden. One can be informal here and indulge in one’s hobbies, like listen to music or read a book. The decor should be appealing and enticing, creating a congenial ambience for entertainment or brainstorm sessions about a plan or impending project or discussions about general issues. Whatever it may be, the atmosphere should be ideal. The Patio should be well quipped for this. How?
Tips to Décor the Patio
- Remove all the old stuff, all obsolete decorations, make way for new decorations. Old mats, chairs, rugs etc should be got rid of
- The patio décor should reflect your taste and choice. If you like a modern look, then go in for modern furniture. The visitors should get a feel of what your likes and dislikes are
- All accessories should not appear obsolete and worn out. They should be spruced up. If mats are old, then new ones can be brought in. The door knob can be scrubbed, walls can be painted
- Plan much in advance as to what you want in the patio, which kind of furniture, whether it would be wooden or aluminum
- The patio should not become an “extra” room for storage
- Along with the size one should also be careful to select the appropriate size of the accessories so that they fit into the patio
- Avoid having too much of anything
- One can have some plant pots. Take good care of the plants
- One can have theme in decorating the patio, a Caribbean Island or an Asian meditation place and so on
- Use contrasting colors while painting
- One can personalize the area
The patio also requires adequate attention. It should not be a neglected part of the house. It is a place where family and friends spend quality time. It should be well decorated and furnished.
