Kitchens have to be cleaned well at all times, as the bacteria from food gets left over and can cause infections. It is a place where food is cooked and it is quite natural for insects to roam around. Basic hygiene has to be maintained. The floors have to well scrubbed and the kitchen counters have to be neat and clean. In other words the kitchen has to be spic and span. One has to make an effort to keep the kitchen clean and there are some ground rules to be followed.

Tips For Kitchen Cleaning

  1. Wash your hands before preparing the food with soap and hot water
  2. Dishes, counters and utensils must be cleaned
  3. Sponges also must be cleaned as well as the vegetable cutting boards
  4. Raw meat, poultry and seafood should be separated from each other in the shopping cart and in the refrigerator
  5. Avoid placing cooked food on an unwashed platter that previously held raw meat, poultry and sea food
  6. Defrost frozen foods in the refrigerators or under cold running water, not on the counter
  7. Hydrogen peroxide can help in removing stains and baking soda also can be used. Club soda is also useful in removing such stains. Sand paper also can be used to remove stains
  8. Place rubber mats in stainless steel sink
  9. Use mild cleansers
  10. Clean up crevices also as hidden food can be there, causing bad odor
  11. Wipe out the spills at the earliest possible time
  12. The light fixtures also need to be cleaned as dirt forms on them as well
  13. Refrigerators also need to be cleaned
  14. One should clean the stove-tops
  15. Glassware can be cleaned in like warm water
  16. Oven racks should be cleaned with baking soda and vinegar

All items in the kitchen should be cleaned properly to prevent germs. The food should not be contaminated. A neat kitchen tells a lot about a person, his or her attitude towards hygiene and basic cleanliness.
