- Use electrical devices like food processors, mixers, grinders, beaters, juicers, toasters, grills, and ovens in order to make cooking convenient.
- If you mostly cook in your microwave oven, make sure you use microwave-safe crockery and storage vessels.
- Buy utensils that have a good grip and are handy. Use utensils that are not very bulky or heavy.
- Have a counter top as your work area where you could sit do works like kneading, chopping, mixing etc.
- Arrange your kitchen in a way that the working triangle of cooking area, washing area and refrigeration and working area are in a triangle.
- Keep a stool handy to reach out for utensils stored at a higher level.
- Keep a dish shelf to arrange all your crockery and cutlery over it after washing.
- Keep all the things that need to be shifted constantly in a cart.
- Keep plug points close to the working area.
- Keep your waste bin covered to prevent it from stinking.
- Make sure your kitchen is sufficiently ventilated. Have an exhaust fan installed if you don’t have an electric chimney.
- If your kitchen is not sufficiently ventilated get an electric chimney installed.
- Things that you use frequently should be kept in the top drawers.
- Things that you use rarely should be kept high above or in the lower drawers.
- Place things back into the original place once you finish using them to avoid cluttering your kitchen.
- Keep tissues, mobs, and kitchen towels handy for cleaning emergency.
- Keep the kitchen lighting bright for better working conditions.
- Ensure that you do not keep the food left over in the kitchen or the wash area. This would attract roaches.
- Larger knobs would make accessing the cabinets easier.
- Keep your kitchen dry always and wear slippers with good grip in order to avoid slipping.
