How To Childproof Harmful things?

Here is a small checklist to childproof your home –

  1. Keep all your medications, drugs, anti-insect durgs, sprays, cleaners etc locked up in a cabinet that your child cannot possibly reach. It is also advised to lock it and keep the key with you.
  2. Keep the lower cabinets in the kitchen with lighter utensils and some toys so that the child can play will the parent cooks.
  3. Install child resistant locks on all cabinets.
  4. Keep your perfumes, moisturizers and other cosmetics also locked up. Children have a habit of imitating parents so they might end up using or rather misusing your toiletaries and cosmetics.
  5. Keep all the electrical items out of the reach of your children.
  6. Turn the pot handles towards the backside while cooking. Children tend to grab the handles while playing in the kitchen.
  7. Do not leave your child alone in the bathtub.
  8. Pad or tape up the sharp edges of the household furniture.
  9. Secure loose tiles or carpets with the help of glue.
  10. Keep all your electrical appliancies and electronic goods unplugged normally.
  11. Install safety plugs to the outlets in children’s reach.
  12. Keep small things out of the reach of children or they may put them in their mouth and probably choke.
  13. Don’t leave food or water on the floor.
  14. Keep plastic bags out the children’s reach.
