Bathrooms have become multi-purpose lately. Apart from answering nature calls, people use bathrooms as escapades where they could sit in peace and solitude and think. Some young souls use bathrooms to romance while amateur singers love their voice echoing between the four walls of the privacy. So time now, to give your bathrooms their due importance and pep them up with colors that will make your bathroom a special corner in your home.
Choosing a color scheme for your bathroom is a highly individual thing. You could choose brighter shades to give your bathroom a jazzy and artistic look, you can choose warm colors to give it an invigorating look or use neutral or cool colors to give it a calming and soothing effect. Your moods will influence the colors of your choice and the colors you choose will eventually influence your moods.
While choosing the color scheme for your bathroom, it is also important to keep in mind the lighting also. If yours is a bathroom that gets plenty of daylight and is well illuminated during daytime, you can experiment with a lot of colors. If not then you would have to light your bathroom well in order to make the colors stand out. The usual fluorescent lighting would not do for your bathroom.
If you are fed up of analogous colors and looking to experiment with a combination of colors, be careful. Colors tend to cast shadows on each other. For example if you use white with beige, white may end up looking dirtier comparatively. On the contrary if you use white with black, it is a sharp contrast and white would go well with it. So when you are experimenting with combinations, choose contrasting colors.
For those who want to revamp their dull and bland bathrooms, you can sharply contrast your color scheme with that of your sanitary ware. If your sanitary ware is the usual white and beige in color, then you should look to play around with neutral colors to give your bathroom a uniform look and not make your sanitary wear seem like it doesn’t belong there.
Coloring the walls is merely a part of your décor, its not all of it. You should look to accessorize your bathroom with shower curtains, towels, soaps, cabinets and other miscellaneous items that contribute towards one theme.
You can try looking around at pictures of bathroom décor in popular interior designing magazines to draw some inspiration. You can also try searching pictures on the Internet. Creativity just needs a whiff of inspiration. Find yours and see what wonders it can do for your bathroom.
