Hi, I was fascinated to read your interesting article about kitchen storage (or lack of). I run a small business supplying discontinued tableware to clients, so I tend to see tableware of all shapes and sizes, from numerous manufacturers.

One of the aspects of tableware design that I find intriging, is that so few manufacturers seem to take into account the fact that their elaborate designs often do not fit into some of the smaller kitchen that modern houses have. Poole Pottery used to produce cups that stacked neatly inside each other so that you could stack the 4 or 5 high in a confined space. The other items in their “Compact” range followed that idea. Why was this brilliant idea not continued with and picked up by other manufacturers?

Enjoy your kitchen and your tableware.
    Regards
    Chris
