A clean carpet is definitely a delight to the eyes. However, its hard for them to remain clean over a period of time, as stains and spills tend to soil them.
If cleaned the right way one can get rid of the stains which are otherwise very difficult to remove. Here are some tips on how to clear off the stains from your carpet.
For Fresh stains: Don’t panic, instead keep a bottle of plain soda ready. Pour the soda on the spot, leave it for some time and sponge it up.
For older stains: Make a mixture of 2 tablespoons of detergent , 3 tablespoons of vinegar and a quarter spoon of warm water. Apply it on the area of the stain and blot it dry.
Also one can apply shaving cream on the area of the stain and blot it dry.
Liquids: In case of liquids blot them dry. Rinse the area with water and blot it dry again. Do not scrub, as the stain will set in more deeply.
Semi Solid Liquids: Like butter or puddings, scrape it off with a spoon, rinse the place and blot dry the place.
Dried Liquids: Break the stain first and vacuum dry it. Rinse it with water and then blot it dry again.
Grease Stains: Apply some dry cleaning fluid and then blot it with a dishwashing fluid.
Juice and wines: Apply a mixture of ammonia and laundry detergent and blot it dry with warm water.
Ink stains: Apply dry cleaning liquid and blot it dry.
If you are not sure of the cleaning agent try washing the stain with water. When applying detergent on the area, make sure you apply it on the cloth first and scrub the carpet with the cloth.
You need to scrub the place then blot it dry and if the stain doesn’t go still continue to scrub and blot till it goes away.
Also, one can use a dry/wet vacuum cleaner to suck up the stain.
Keep these points in mind and have a clean carpet.
