Cleaning A Ceiling Fan

A ceiling fan can accumulate a lot of dust. Cleaning it regularly is important, especially if you have someone with allergies or asthma.  If you have a ceiling fan, which has a lot of, dust accumulated on it. You could try cleaning it in the following ways

  • Wipe the ceiling with a long magnetic duster
  • Check if your vacuum cleaner has a facility to clean up fan blades, if it has a facility then use it to clean your fan.

If the above is not possible, you can clean ceiling fan blade with a damp cloth. Here are the steps to clean a ceiling fan:

  • Make sure the ceiling fan is switched off
  • Wearing protective eye wear to safeguard your eyes from the dust
  • You can use a plastic tray underneath the blades to catch the dust
  • Take a damp cloth for cleaning. Use a strong stool to reach the ceiling fan blades
  • For cleaning ceiling fan blade, spray some all-purpose cleaner on the cloth and wipe each blade with it

It also important not to spray the cleaner into the motor as it can result in a shock. Keep in mind these steps and you will find a clean fan.
