How to Choose the Right Carpet?

Selecting the right carpet matching your interior adds to the overall décor of your home. There are several factors that you may like to consider before buying a carpet; for example, durability and the maintenance. Durability and maintenance can be dependent on the type of fabric used in the making of your carpet. Besides these factors, you may also want to think about the color, price, etc.

Tips to Select the Right Carpet

Listed below are four main types of carpet fibers:

  • Nylon Carpet: Nylon is considered as one of the most durable and a widely used carpet fibers. They are also highly stain resistant. So, nylon carpets can be a good option in your living room, stairs and hallways or if you stay in a heavy traffic area. If you prefer nylon carpet, you may want to go for nylon Tactesse carpet. The smaller and densely packed Tactesse fiber can create a softer feel and retain its texture longer than a standard nylon fiber. You might not use nylon carpet in your bathroom because it may lose color in the presence of moisture and bleach.
  • Polyester Carpet: Like nylon, you can walk barefoot on your polyester carpet. It is resistant to stains, semi-resistant to bleaches and chemicals. But, it may not be durable because it can attract oily soils. You may choose polyester carpets for your bedrooms and may not be choose it for your entryways, hallways and living rooms.
  • Olefin Carpet: Olefin fiber is also extremely durable but, unlike nylon carpets, it may not be a pleasure to walk barefoot on them. It can be resistant to bleaches and chemicals. So, it can be a good choice for your bathrooms or if you stay in areas where moisture is more prevalent.
  • Wool Carpet: Wool is the most expensive, much more softer and durable natural fiber. It is a real pleasure to walk on wool carpets. Wool carpets can also offer various range of colors. Unlike polyester and olefin carpets, wool carpet can hide soil, being mostly stain resistant. Unlike nylon carpet, it can repel moisture. But, wool carpet can dissolve in chlorine bleach and may not be able to remove some strong stains. So, if you have small children you might think before investing on wool carpets.

You can select a warm shade carpet if you have a large space; this can give you a cozy feeling. Select a cool shade if you have small space.
