Holiday Window Painting

If you are bored with the plain look of your glass windows and secretly crave to give them few slashes of color, holidays are the best time. Within few days, you can transform your drab looking glass panes into beautiful pictures of snowmen, reindeer and vibrant pines. All you need is a measuring tape, paper towels, acrylic craft paints and your imagination.

Even if you lack good imagination, you may borrow it from others, what are color books and greetings cards for, if they aren’t for giving inspiration!

Tips for Holiday Window Painting

To start with, make sure that the window you are painting has protection against snow and rain. Window paint can wash off once it gets wet.

Now, measure the area of your windows you would like to paint with a measuring tape.

To clean the work surface, you can wipe off the area with a household window cleaner or paper towels.

You may want to plan your image because you need to know what you are going to draw. You may use some pictures as a reference to sure that your design is accurate.

Using a mark, draw the outline of the image. To correct mistakes, you can use a little bit of water.

Use a wide brush to paint the large areas. Similarly, use smaller brushes, to paint the smaller areas or to add details.

You can add finishing touches and highlights with fine-tipped brush using black or white paint.
