• Firstly choose a window which is attractive and energy efficient.
• Now remove the old window from inside your house and then the frame of the window from the outside.
• Now remove all the screws, the upper and the lower sash stops, parting strips etc.using pliers and screwdrivers.
• After removing everything its time to test the fitting of the window. If the window gets fitted in the rough opening then see whether its sill is leveled.
• Once the sill is leveled apply silicone sealant using caulk gun in the rough opening especially to the bottom corners.
• Now, apply a tape of aluminum weather proofing starting from the lower side so that it covers the entire bottom of the sill.
• Application of butyl adhesive will prevent the entry of water into the sill.
• Now apply silicone sealant the outside stop against which the new window frame will sit.
