Prefinished Oak Hard Wood Flooring

The options for flooring are increasing each day as there is a great demand for them. But there are only a few of them which provide durability along with traditional beauty. Oak is one such option which is not only durable but also adds elegance to your floor.

The only draw back that oak carries is that it can not sustain much of the moisture. So, oak can not be used for bathroom but for rest of the rooms it is the most recommended flooring for any room.These are available in two species red oak and white oak. Red oak has reddish color on the flooring whereas white oak gives brownish color to the floor.

Prefinished Oak Hard Wood Flooring:

Hard wood flooring of oak which is Prefinished has a high quality of finishing coat over it. It carries nearly about 4-7 coats of Aluminum Oxide or Polyurethane. This finished is gained by the hardwood under high pressure and temperature which makes it incomparable. It is because of this finish only that it becomes free from moisture.

This hardwood of Prefinished oak flooring comes with a warranty of 5 and 25 years out of which 5 and 15 years are for the finish itself.Although they take time for lying but the outcome of the entire look of the room will be an exclusive one.

Prefinished VS Unfinished Oak Flooring:
The comparison between the two types of the woods can be summarized in the following points:

  • The flooring of Prefinished oak is prepared under the restricted environment which gives the flooring greater durability and less amount of the residual dust. Where as the flooring of the unfinished oak can be prepared at any site at a very less cost.
  • The Prefinished oak flooring takes a longer time of nearly 7 days to be installed whereas the unfinished flooring will take a much longer time in its installation.
  • The Prefinished oak flooring yields less of the residual material whereas the unfinished takes releases much of the residue.
  • Unfinished flooring requires finishing at the factory rates which could be expensive whereas the Prefinished flooring does not require any such finish.
